SPIRITUAL HELP IN A PRESENT WORLD

GOD BEING GOD

GOD BEING GOD

INTRODUCTION:

Before God created the heavens and the earth as we live in, there existed another place that we cannot see its existence in its present form. In that place are different parts that we learn about in the bible. It is a place that is not made of matter or physical structures. This place exists without matter and is held together by the word of the Spiritual being, name God, who created everything.

God being God.

God the Father created ALL things. The Old Testament revelations of God, places Him on the throne as the creator, rescuer, all powerful King that must have our loyalty. The initial moment that the bible reveals God identifying himself as “THE” God - Genesis 15:7.

The New Testament reveals a more intimate account through Christ about God’s nature, His vision, His Love, and His meaning for light/truth.

We learn in Genesis (1:1) that from God all things came into being, by His Word, as the Creator. God, however, has not a creator, nor authority to answer to, so He said by His own rite that He is ALL and He is All that He needs (Isa 45:18-23;Exodus 3:14).

In Matthew we learn that The Creator is more than just a powerful being that made things and demands that we worship him. We learn He looks over us as a Father. The same word, Father, that we know as half of the unit in the role of our parents has similar impact in our existence. Furthermore, the use of the word Father, by Christ, has a more powerful and important meaning than the word we associate with as a parent.

Pater (Pa-tayr) - Father - means originator in its proper form. Meaning that all things have an origin from this one existent source. The use of the word typically is a term of self-identification. Jesus uses His Father as the answer to all questions, about, and in every context. There is a vast difference in how we understand the word label from how Christ uses the word. Christ uses the word Father to command authority and power.

Christ’s usage:

  • To Defeat Lies – Matthew 4:7; Ps 91:9-13 – “If Thou Be the Son of God” Satan is being slick…because when he was in heaven getting whooped up by Michael, and when was back in heaven trying to lie on poor Ol’ Job, Jesus was standing right there too. Satan is using words from David who seems to be expressing himself about war and battle. Satan’s angle is to get Jesus to focus on giving up his divine rite over his human mortality. David is telling us that he risen to a level of enlightenment and understanding so he has placed his allegiance in God and God can see this, so God will keep watch over him. Neither will he die an unexpected death (lion and adder). Satan doesn’t have to mention that God already gave angels charge over Jesus (Gen 3:15; Rev 12). Jesus is warning Satan with a very direct reply: Do not temp God….because God can order Jesus to trample him right there on the spot in the desert. Jesus making this a very clear point to Satan as an individual. Yet, Jesus also being meek and divinely intelligent utters the words as a rebuke. Satan in all his chicanery is trying to get Jesus to take the very same fall that he took. So, he gets Jesus, takes Jesus on the very same steps but not in heaven….but on earth. Jesus is responding with a warning directly to Satan about his attempt to convince Jesus to give up his right to the throne by offering him another throne (which would render Jesus banished to earth as well).
  • To Worship – Matthew 4:10
  • To reveal connection – Matthew 6:26 – God designed everything so that it is connected to everything else. The birds are one of the most intricate parts of the ecosystem. They outnumber all life that does not crawl or swim. They take care of all the things in between the ground and the air.
  • To complete disputes: Matthew 6:12
  • To prove allegiance/obedience: Matthew 7:21-23
  • To warn: Matthew 18:6-10 – Jesus lays down a foundational principle for humankind – do not offend children, because each child has their own angel to watch over them and that will tell God (beholds his face), what you are doing – daily. In his words about the children, he is giving us the fundamental knowledge we need to understand God’s love for those in his kingdom on the spiritual side, as well.

The Biblical revelations about God

  1. There are five distinct revelations in the bible that give us clear information for us to frame about God.

Genesis 1:1- God as the Originator of the physical world

Exodus 3:14 – I Am – WHO – I AM; I exist is who I exist; I exist as I am existent. I be who I be. I am of myself. It means I sustain myself. I am the law over myself. I am the life of myself. I am the reason and purpose for myself.

Job 1:6; Isa 6:1-3 – God as the sole authority that judges over all things. We see God in action as a judge. (Ps 7:8-12; Ps 50:1-6)

*** Matthew 23:9 – Jesus reveals that God is the only Begetter (originator) and Father over all things. Here we see Jesus give a proclamation that only he would know by witness and authority. This proclamation is matter-of-fact tone that teaches us to respect God as our supreme.

John 1:1-5 – The Existence of God is His Claim to authority…coming from someone who spent all their time with Jesus. Jesus came from God, was with God, sent by God – which means God’s existence is His claim to authority.

*** Leviticus 19:12 – We learn that God will not allow his name to be profaned or degraded.

  1. There are several distinct supportive revelations that clarify information that helps us understand God’s relation to his creation, also.

Proverbs 3:19,20 – God’s wisdom creates order. This order is to help us and sustain us.

Psalms 8:1-9 – God places each creation in order of hierarchy. The hierarchy creates a trickle-down effect that benefits all.

Matt 18:3-6 (Deut 24:6) – God’s Purity and Holiness emanates divine justice and punishment. This character trait of God is an automatically rejects anything that isn’t innocent.  You have to be as pure in intentions as a child to qualify yourself in his presence.

*** Matt 19:17 – God is the only Being that is good. There cannot be two good beings. There can never be two Gods. This would upset the order of all truth. Because where there are two…there will always be division/chaos. There must be an order that is hierarchical in structure for there to be true harmony. Which is why there are three who rule. The three that exist in the trinity “bear witness” and are “one” together as rulers over all that is under them (1 John 5:7). So, there will never be any imbalance because Jesus gives us the answer: ONLY ONE is good.

Since he is the ONLY being that is GOOD…His Goodness affords him the to be the only being with these three unique qualities of being omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent.

What are the unique qualities of our God?

God is:

  • Omnipotent (Ps 50:1-10) – All powerful. He answers only to Himself, because He alone is in control of Himself, and all must understand to conform to His existence in glorification, sanctification, and worship of (come nigh). Leviticus 10:1-3
  • Omniscient (1John 3:20) - KNOWS ALL…because He is not confined to any material or metaphysical forces. A spiritual being that Has infinite wisdom and knowledge.
  • Omnipresent (Ps 139:7-12) – He is everywhere all at one. He fills all existence in the spiritual realm and in our natural realm.

God being God with his unique qualities has designed the order of all things God created a Spiritual realm that is immeasurable, and all things are encased in this realm. He also created a natural realm for the lower beings to live in that is a model of the spiritual realm.

Let’s show our God that we are willing…and He will show us that He is able.
