SPIRITUAL HELP IN A PRESENT WOLD

DEVELOPING A PERSONAL MINISTRY

MATTHEW 28:18-20

INTRODUCTION:

Have you ever thought to ask yourself, do you have something that you can do, to help God,
Christ, and the Church? Do you have a personal ministry?
If you have not developed a personal ministry of your own, fear not, because you may
already have the answer and the tools.
Christ had his ministry that changed the world, and his manner, conduct, energy,
determination, and virtue helped him get to many places and stand in front of many faces.
He came to earth to seek those who are separate from God to bring them back to God in
the correct relationship. When he was crucified, and resurrected by God, he commanded
that his disciples, begin their ministry as well. He commanded them to teach, then baptize,
then teach again to continue following what you were taught. He assured his disciples that
he will support them every step of the way. This commission to go out to the world is so
vital to the Christian faith and God’s will that all be saved. This commission begins with
individuals, who are their own individual Messengers with this enlightened understanding
that is called “light”, or the truth, which came from Jesus who is “The Light” (John 1:1-9).

LESSON BODY

Christians are the Light
Matt 5:1-16

Jesus said that Children of God, the Israelites, at that time were supposed to be the Light of
the world. Now we know through the bible that Christians are the New Israelites, or God’s
Children. So, it is imperative that Christians are shinning the light of Christ into a dark
universe as he told them in AD 30. People who are needing salvation need to know where
the source of the salvation is. They locate the light when they spot you. Christians influence
the world through what is called: virtue.
Virtue is conduct that proves you live by a moral standard or value. This standard that
Christians live by is Christianity, which is Christ’s law. Christ came to bring all law and all
existence into one order called Christianity. Christianity is active law on conduct that rules
your body, soul and spirit (Psalm 19:7-10). The laws of this order are founded on the
Principle of Love that exists because of God. God is love and his law on conduct is based
on HIMSELF which is Love (1John 4:8). Christ in his commission has commanded us to go
and teach that principle, live by it, and help to save others through sharing it.

The Need for God's Presence

The World needs God. There is so much going on in the world that is negative and
damnable. This is why God is need. And God needs you. This need should motivate each
Christian to find their way of contributing to the cause of Christ. We can do this in a number
of ways. If we do not know what to do or how to contribute, then we can develop a ministry
of our own. We can use our talent, resources, relationships, and even supportive roles to
further the cause of Christ. It’s all up to you.
Earlier, I wrote that you may already have the answer or tools, although you may not know
what they are. One is your confidence. The other is your love. If you take your confidence

and love and combine them together, you will have a powerful foundation that can help you
develop your own personal ministry in the faith.

Evangelism is the Personal Ministry for All

Matt 5:3-10

The main purpose of evangelism is to bring souls to Christ. We are Christians but we are
still beings that live on earth as Humans. Being on earth puts us in different roles in our
lives. These roles are in places where we can interact with other humans. Our role as
Christians can be a wide range of roles for each place, that we are in. Throughout the
chapters of thew 5-7, Jesus gives us insight on virtue and standing up for the cause of
righteousness. Each of these insights are the rules of your evangelism. Remember the
rules, or laws, are based on the principle of love. That love is supposed to be the fabric of
our whole circle of life (1 Cor 13, Rom 8:28-39; Eph 4:15). A fabric that covers our home, all
the way to our spot standing in line at the grocery store. Wherever we find ourselves, that
principle of love rules us and our influence. Which means we can find ourselves filling
many roles for others in their lives because this is what evangelism is by principle.
Roles of a Christian to the world
• Matt 5:1 – Counselor: We may have to console and council others through their
challenges
• James 1:27 – Family: – We should always treat all people with care and concern
• Matt 5:9 – Mediator: – Indeed there will be times where unbiased truth must prevail.
• Matt 5:43-48 – Advocate: – We will find ourselves being a voice righteousness one
day. Many times, those opportunities come when it is time to stand up for all, even
those who have opposed us.
• Acts 8:35-40;10:1-8: – Messenger: – Evangelism is the commission to carry the
message of Christ. We may find ourselves being the one person to share that
message in random places, understanding that God is watching all.
These roles listed will be your most common opportunity to share your light. These
opportunities tend to present themselves the most often because of the structure of our
society. Other opportunities may present themselves in other forms. It is important to
recognize when there is a chance that you can impart love and God’s message. The best
way to be prepared is to always study the word so that we are filled with the message of
Christ and apt to share it at any time (1Peter 3:15). So, what should we do to contribute to
the cause of Christ?
